Composer Willem Boogman has written a series of compositions From Scratch, based on the working method of visual artist Alexandra Roozen. The renowned Ives Ensemble plays the first part ‘Plain Dust’ in Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam. This part refers to the series of drawings ‘Plain Dust’ by Alexandra Roozen and is performed with flute, clarinet, trombone, violin, viola, cello and percussion.
Main program: Willem Boogman, Anton Webern, John Cage, Morton Feldman, Dick Raaymakers, Franco Donatoni, Alvin Lucier. The short film ‘Seen by Hand’ about the working method of Alexandra Roozen is shown in advance.
